如果你想表達(dá)“帶某人出去吃飯”,可以說take sb (out) to lunch。但out to lunch卻沒有這個(gè)意思,真正表達(dá)的是“瘋狂的,注意力不集中,心不在焉,神志不清”。
例句:
You must have been out to lunch when you wrote that weird report.
當(dāng)你做這個(gè)奇怪的報(bào)告的時(shí)候,你一定是神志不清的。

中文里有俗語“天下沒有免費(fèi)的午餐”,英文也有,那就是free lunch。free lunch指“不費(fèi)力或者不付出代價(jià)就能白白獲得的東西”。
